The Rainbow, Dynasty Chapter 6: The Wedding

My Uncle”s lips are inches from the cup. I look over at Caesar. Droplets of sweat have formed underneath his brow. He”d done it. He”d poisoned my uncle and is waiting for him to drink. At this moment it feels like the world stops. Faison Castle was the kind of guy who was going to have an impact on this world. Whether that impact was because of his death or his life was going to be decided at this moment.

The drink touches Faison”s lips. It gets in his mouth. Just when he is about to tip his glass, he stops. Caesar exhales noticeably. Faison has been distracted by something.

“Stand,” Faison states.

He”d noticed during his toast that my parents aren”t standing. Both remain sitting. The only Castles who are.

“My son is not marrying his fuckin” cousin in some sick deranged fucking political marriage—-” my mother is going off.

I swear I”d never in my life seen my mother so upset. But it had all been coming. The assassination attempt took a toll on her. Moving here took a toll on her. She was always going to snap and now it was happening.

“Europa stop,” my father tries to stop my mother from speaking.

My mother”s anger doesn”t seem to make my uncle any less authoritative. He gives both my parents a stronger look, “Stand.”

The tension is thick. Real thick. I”m scared to death.

“Just get up,” I plead to my parents, “It”s OK.”

I hadn”t thought about the idea that I was marrying Kaiser. I didn”t have a chance to think about it. What I did know is that Uncle Faison wouldn”t deal with much more disrespect.

“It”s not OK!” my mother bellows.

“Europa, please,” Queen Octavia pleads to dead ears.

My father shakes his head, “We refuse this marriage brother. With all due respect. Even removing what Kaiser attempted to do this is incest. Brother. You know that…”

“In Ancient Egypt, the Ptolemy dynasty intermarried for decades to keep the blood pure,” my Uncle states, “So they will marry. You will stand.”

The look of confusion seems to carry to multiple people. Not just my parents. I look around the room at Dru seeming a bit stunned. Then there is Dom. Dom is quietly standing there. Surely he will say something. He has to be just as upset as my parents about this arranged marriage. Right. Surely he is going to be the one to stand up to his father.

I think that. I feel that. I even hope it against all odds when Dom is silently staring at the silverware on the table. I”m wrong. Dom does nothing.

The slap my Uncle gives my father next is one that echoes across the room.

He slaps my father again.

“Stand.”

Again.

“Stand.”

I try to pull forward. My mother is in tears seeing my father get hit. The other family members are all watching. The room is silent save the jerking impact of a slap across my father”s face every few seconds. He”s drawn blood after a few blows. It”s not that the slaps could cause real damage to my father. It”s the embarrassment I want to save him from. Yet when I try to intervene, I am pulled back by Dom.

Dom, leans in, whispers slowly, “When he gets like this you need to just let him be. It can get so much worse…”

The way Dom reacts to his father”s wild aggression and madness scares me. I”d assumed Uncle Faison was mad before but having me marry my cousin was a whole different story. He”d lost it in the worst way possible.

That”s when my Uncle Faison takes off his belt. He”s ready to whip my father. He”s ready to whip my fucking father.

But he coughs right when he pulls back.

“Careful Uncle…you”re bleeding,” Caesar states.

Just at that moment, we all notice it. A violent storm of coughs hits Uncle Faison. He topples over as the doors break open and the room is flooded with help. I hear the screams of my Aunt Octavia as she tears up at the idea of something being wrong with Uncle Faison. We all knew what it was.

Faison has been poisoned.

Is it nasty that I want both Prince Io and Prince Kaiser to cover me with warm hot cum?

It”s on Friday. The public feed for New Jerusalem blotches the sky like some sort of futuristic digital blog of current events. Shortly after the lights flicker on the face of A new Castle. One different from the usual Faison.

It”s Io Castle presenting Chain Lightning A letter to my city.

“Have you ever felt chain lightning?
It starts in your chest, heightening, through your throat
Electrocuting anything that you once thought was a hope
Was that feeling frightening
I assume it can be not knowing where to go
And amid tragedy not knowing how to cope
Crying through the storm hoping the pain goes away
Not realizing that the anxiousness in this dark stormy day
Because Lightning is Frightening
And soon the Thunder too will come out to play
And in that second, when the lightning has it”s say
For that second, it may not be that bad a display
Because even for a second
The light from lightning turns kocaeli escort the night too beautiful day”

“It”s a wrap! Nice!”

I stop filming. It”s Dom who calls cut and says “Wrap on Chain Lightning!” The poem was going to be released today as an address to the country from one of the Castle Princes. I didn”t want to do it. Caesar says the poem is propaganda. Dom says it”s a way to help heal a nation who is worried about the wellbeing of its leader.

It”s been a few days since the assassination attempt. No one knew what caused it but it had thrown the country into absolute chaos.

“Was that good enough?” I ask.

Dom hesitates to put an arm on my shoulder, “We need any help that we can get. Shit is going up in flames, Io. Everyone thinks my father is crazy. Everyone thinks the rest of us must be too.”

“Maybe they have a point.”

“My father”s doctor keeps stalling me not giving any updates on his condition. The US ambassador keeps fucking asking for a meeting. The stock market is crashing. And then there is the media crisis known as Io”s marriage that I need to contend with.”

Media crisis was the right word. It”s a reason they wanted me in front of the camera to deliver a message of hope to the people of New Jerusalem and not Dom or Druscilla. I was already trending right now. I was already causing quite the stir.

“At least people aren”t talking about the coronation anymore.”

That news cycle had passed. I guess when the King has consistent controversies no one cares much that they have to call him King anymore. I”m not sure if we are in a worse position or better overall, however.

“No just the fact that my father is the fucking crazy person who is forcing you to get married…”

It”s looser than I”d heard him talk about his father in some time.

“You drinking the media juice too.”

The articles about my Uncle”s mental health were catching fire even more than the idea of him getting poisoned. Only a few people knew why he retreated for quite some time. Others didn”t—-including the media.

He shakes his head, “No. It”s just that he”s starting a lot more to sound like he”s not all there anymore. Yesterday he called for Dany.”

“Dany?”

“Like Targaryen. He thinks this is an HBO show. He thinks we”re Targaryens.”

I laugh at the idea even though I can tell my cousin is saying this in all seriousness. Knowing Faison Castle I wasn”t surprised that his sense of grandeur had now matured to fantasy as well. From what I remembered of the show, the family did a ton of incest. I guess that would explain him wanting me to marry my cousin.

“Well, I can always delay the wedding,” I state before laughing and adding, “Maybe indefinitely…”

“About that…”

My heart races when Dom”s face gets serious. I hate when it gets like that.

“Dom please don”t give me any bad news…” I state.

He can”t help it. He sighs, “I”m sorry.”

“What is it?”

“We need a wedding sooner. Politically we need the distraction,” he states.

“Sooner?”

“This week.”

“You are not asking me to marry a guy I barely know in a week…Dom,” I realize.

Dom shakes his head, “No. I”m not asking you. Your country is asking you.”

“I can”t believe you, Dom.”

I walk away. Storming off to my private dressing room. I”m surprised when he followed me in there. He”s able to jam his foot in the door before I can slam it on him. I try to none-the-less almost splintering the wood before he uses his shoulder to prop it completely open.

Dom shakes his head, “You think I want to see you do this? Of course not. If you think it”s going to affect us you”re wrong. I still love you. We can still be…”

I let the door go.

He comes in the dressing room. I couldn”t believe him.

“I hate you,” I tell him.

The words just come out. It doesn”t help when he uses this and pushes me up against the mirror. I feel my back hit the mirror. I think he”s going to hit me but he doesn”t. He kisses me. And it might as well have been a hit.

I”d prefer that.

“I love you,” is his response.

I want to push him away and fight it. I don”t though. I let him get me naked. I let him lift me far into the air and press himself into me. He fucks me while I straddle his waist, with my hands wrapped around that neck of his. I feel completely secure as he pummels me, putting his dick deeper and deeper inside of me.

My entire body sings when I feel Dom inside of me. Cousin or not, he was enjoying it. Maybe it was how bad all of this was. He was my cousin and now I was engaged to someone else. All this taboo brings down my inhibitions.

My legs are spread, my asshole craving his dick.

Sooner or later I”m panting for him.

“Fuck me. Deeper. Harder. Yes. Just like that. Oh…it feels so good.”

He hits spots that I didn”t know existed. And he wraps his mouth around mine. I feel this connection between us that I always knew was there. It”s a connection that keeps me going. It”s a connection that makes me realize that I”m not alone. Not even in my marriage.

I may have been getting married but it meant nothing. Dom was still my heart.

~

I return home, stinking of sex and defeat. I have to admit the sex with Dom was good. Even as I arrive home I can barely sit. I find a nice wall to lean on and I close my eyes. Of course, the only picture that comes into my mind is Dom. He”d darıca escort shown me that he was afraid of his father. He”d shown me that he was not as hypnotized as people in the staff were. He knew what his father was.

That changed things.

I am interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Who is it?” my mother asks walking into the common area.

I shrug. I wasn”t sure. I”d just gotten home myself. As I walk to the door I open it and find men standing there. Soldiers. A hell of a lot of them.

And one man was leading them.

J. Boone.

“What is this?” I ask the chief of staff.

He doesn”t give me his usual pleasant welcoming. He doesn”t kiss my ass because I”m a Castle like usual. This time he seems to be here for business I know that this can”t be good news.

“We have a warrant.”

“A warrant sir?”

“For the arrest of Caesar Castle…”

My heart stops. This couldn”t be happening! But it was. I struggle against the men as they force their way through. Three of them pin me up against a wall. I don”t stand a chance as Boone and his men interrupt our peace. My father is at home. I look at him.

“Stop them…” I state.

He doesn”t. He doesn”t even try to. He just stands there and steps aside. My mother is screaming at this point desperate to save her child. None of us see it coming…not even Caesar when he”s pulled out of the room.

They knew something and shit was about to hit the fan.

~

It”s the day of the wedding. It”s hard to focus on a wedding when your uncles been poisoned, you are having an affair with your cousin and your brother just got arrested. Let”s just say throughout this I”m shocked that I still manage to fill out the white tuxedo that Dom picked out for me. It was kind of weird him picking out my clothes, but I knew that I didn”t have a choice.

And before I realize it I”m climbing out of the window attempting to escape.

I barely make it down to the bottom when I turn and see someone else LITERALLY doing the same thing.

“You trying to escape…”

I turn and see that it”s Kaiser. He looks at me. Looks at the rope coming from the window above and he laughs. Somehow I find myself joining him and we are sitting there laughing for 10 whole minutes.

Until finally he whispers, “We can leave together.”

“We can”t.”

“We can get out of here before Faison gets worse. You know it it”ll only get worse.”

“We can”t…”

“Please.”

I shake my head, “We can”t. We are Castles. We were never going to get far.”

He sighs, “Yeah guess your right…future husband.”

I laugh at the thought. It was going to be a reality soon though. More of a reality than a lot of other things I could imagine happening. I”d started this so into Rich and now he wasn”t speaking to me. He hadn”t even shown up at my fuckin wedding.

And as I watch Kaiser go reach for the rope I know that everything he is scared about is coming. The storm that was Faison Castle hadn”t even begun and we were all going to be sucked up under it whether we liked it or not.

-

“You look dashing. True handsome Castle man,” Druscilla tell me.

I”d been left with her by default after returning to my room. My parents were out prepping hundreds of guests. I had no idea who any of these people were and I doubt I hadn”t ever met the majority. It didn”t matter. This wasn”t Io”s wedding. This was a Castle wedding. I just happened to be the distraction on the flyer.

“Dru I can”t do this.”

“Why?”

“So much is going on.”

That”s when Druscilla walks up to me. The way she does it gets my attention. She is assertive grabbing me by my collar and almost choking me.

“The sooner you learn this place the better. You get married today. You don”t have a choice. It”s survival here. Do you want to end up like your brother?”

She throws him in my face. A warning story. With the exception of today,  my mother hasn”t left her bedroom all week. She cries every day. My father has been trying to chase bureaucratic tape to get my brother released but he hasn”t been successful. Rumor is he”s been taken to a place called the Gray Room. It”s the area of the castle that I”d seen earlier where people returned looked like they”d been tortured or even worse.

“He”s innocent,” I proclaim.

My cousin rolls her eyes, ” Your brother was involved with trying to kill my father. You know it and I know it. Seneca Cast put him up to it. We both know that too. The only question is can they prove it.”

Dru knows what she”s talking about. I can tell. It”s different from others…even Dom. Druscilla seems to understand things. Even things that I don”t think Dom understands. It”s surprising getting all this from her.

“You think I should marry Kaiser?”

“No. It”s an awful idea,” Druscilla explains, “That”s is sure to cause drama and chaos. But it”s what is going to happen and you ought to make the best of it.”

I don”t know what I”m expecting. Perhaps warm words and some mutual tears between family members. That”s not what I get from Dru. She nods, smiles,  gathers her expensive purse and leaves in a dazzling couture gown to join the audience.

And I”m left alone wondering if I should listen to Druscilla and it isn”t until Boone comes to my room to escort me to the wedding floor that I take my shot.

“Boone… my brother…” I start, “I don”t want him found guilty.”

gölcük escort

He may be half expecting this. I”m not quite sure, to be honest. I can”t tell from his expression. I can”t tell from the varied looks of duty on his face.

“What do I get?”

“What do you want?”

I wouldn”t think that a man like Boone would want money or even a reputation. His shadowed appearance makes me believes he dislikes those things.

“There”s one person responsible for all of this madness. It”s Seneca Cast. I want him.”

Shit.

“I don”t know how to find him.”

That”s when Boone reaches in his pocket. He”s come prepared. He hands me a pen and a rolled-up piece of paper.

“Your brother does. And maybe if he is convinced to tell… he may get free.”

I do what Boone says. I don”t have a choice. My brother was annoying but I don”t know much longer I could bare my mother”s grief.

And before I take my place in the ceremony Boone is already whispering in my ear, “My people already got Seneca. A deal is a deal.”

“That was quick…”

“He was close.”

I turn away because music is playing. My betrothed is coming out. It”s feeling like out of the frying pan and into the fire. I have to admit though, it was quite an alluring fire.

Kaiser Cast comes in wearing the Castle sigil with the beautiful diamond on his chest. His strong chin remains unmoved as the room turns to see him.

Shit.

My stomach turns by the time he”s near me.

“Can”t believe we”re doing this,” he whispers to me.

He sounds unsure but he isn”t going to leave. I doubt either of us was. I have a chance when I”m staring at the door but instead, I”m just zoning out. The wedding goes off without a hitch. And for a moment I think maybe all this isn”t going to be as bad as I thought.

-

The reception hall had carnations. The official flower of the Gay Agenda. The rows of elegant seats have red flowers arranged between expensive imported china. I sniff at the flower causing my now-husband, Kaiser to turn.

“You ok?” He asks me.

I”m out of it and respond with a grunt.

This causes him to lean in and say, “Husband…”

I am so zoned out that hearing him use the word snaps me back to reality.

“Yeah?”

“You should be paying attention. Things are about to get very interesting.”

Faison Castle walks in. He has a cane. Perhaps Caesar”s attempt did a real number or him or maybe this was for the dramatics. He walks right up to the table and greets both Kaiser and me with hugs.

“This is exactly what we needed,” my uncle tells me.

He had a point. We were trending worldwide. I”d heard the alerts throughout the wedding. Even now there was a camera everywhere capturing this event.

“We have a gift for you, King Faison…”

This is coming from Boone who is a little removed from the pedestal we are sitting on.

I try to stop Boone but I”m too late. Seneca Castle is brought into the room. He isn”t in chains. There wasn”t a struggle. But seeing him causes a bit of angst.

Aunt Octavia braces my Uncle with a firm arm as he hisses, “You…”

“Hello, brother.”

“Get him out of my sight. He won”t interrupt my nephew”s wedding.”

Seneca is unbothered with smiles.

“Why don”t you tell them why you”re really mad?”

“Seneca don”t be dumb,” my father warns.

Whatever warning my father sends goes unheeded as Uncle Seneca looks to the cameras and smiles.

I don”t take him seriously. I doubt anyone else does either. It”s the opposite. We stand together in front of Seneca. My entire family collects around my Uncle. This level of support was good. It showed the world Castles stuck together.

Even Kaiser…

And it”s a powerful scene. It”s amazing but it doesn”t last because Seneca did have something.

Seneca shakes his head, “New Jerusalem is a giant test tube. It”s in the water. It”s in the air…”

At first, it”s so quiet and you don”t hear anything save a gasp from Druscilla nearby. Thousands of cameras tighten on us. I feel Kaiser”s palm break in sweat first and then mine.

“What are you saying?”

“There are chemicals in the water. Biological-“

Wham. At first, I think Faison has lost it and attacked Seneca. Seneca is on the floor so quickly. I soon find out however that it”s my father who hit him. My father hits Seneca right in the face.

And then Faison hits him.

“What”s happening?” I ask Kaiser.

“They”ll turn on us if we don”t…”

I don”t expect it. I don”t expect Kaiser to hit his father. And before I know it they all are. All of the castles attacking Seneca. And here I am in the back a part of this somehow. Even if I don”t hit him I”m a part of this.

The world thought Uncle Faison was crazy.

Now I wondered what the whole world saw. Here I am screaming and spitting with the best of them. A madness took over me.

Maybe we were all crazy. Maybe it was something in our blood. A fury.

I see red.

And it isn”t until I hear Dom”s voice and him pulling me to my feet with blood-stained hands. Whose blood though? Whose blood?

“He”s dead…”

Seneca lays there. Not moving. Druscilla is the one who calls it. She has doubled over his body with pieces of his hair and flesh stuck in her fingernails. They thought we were crazy. The grand titles, the incest, and all the secrets.

They had no idea how bad we could get.

But now they know.

Now the entire world has watched the Castles beat a man to death on live television.
